Dubai Extention

2 nights / 3 days - 23rd – 25th May 201

Dubai was a small fishing settlement, Dubai was taken over in 1830 by the Maktoum family, a branch of the Ban Yas tribe. The family still rules the Emirate today. By the turn of the 19th century, Dubai had the largest souks on the Gulf coast, continuing to expand when it became a British protectorate and part of the Trucial States.  The discovery of oil in 1966 transformed the Emirate into a fast expanding hub for local and international financial and industrial conglomerates in the Middle East. On the departure of the British in 1971, Dubai and five other emirates formed the United Arab Emirates

Today, Dubai is the place where ‘East meets West’. An exciting place to shop with an amazing selection of shopping malls and venues offering a wide selection of keenly priced electrical goods; cameras; watches; jewellery; carpets; perfumes…..the list is endless. The evocative souks are just as exciting, bartering is essential, for spices; fabrics; gold jewellery; Persian carpets; antiques; and furniture
